Hampshire Newborn Portrait Photography

We photograph your newborn typically from 3-12 days old, usually asleep, and in a contemporary style. We utilise a variety of backdrops and props to give you a selection of images including those little details of feet, hands, lips and folds which last for such a short period of time as well as our signature full length images. We also photograph your newborn baby with mum and/or dad to give a real sense of scale, bonding and togetherness. Please view our gallery for more newborn images.

These images are created in our custom built studio carefully managed for temperature, noise, comfort and with all of our props to hand all of which are critical to getting exceptional results - not to mention changing mats and wipes !

Sessions are flexible to accomodate feeding, little accidents, and the patience and care for your little one to be asleep and calm. Typically sessions can last from 1-3 hours and we continue until we have the images we need or your newborn is no longer comfortable whichever comes first. Your baby's welfare is always our primary concern.

Hampshire Newborn Portraits

We regularly photograph newborn babies here in Hampshire taking contemporary sleeping baby portraits in our Stubbington studio close to Fareham, Titchfield, Lee-on-theSolent and Gosport. Our style has been likened to Anne Geddes, the noted newborn baby photographer although we take influence from both Anne and other US based contemporary baby photographers. We consider our newborn portrait photographs fine art newborn photography using the baby as an art form not just a record shot of your baby at birth but an image that you and they will treasure.

Our newborn portraits feature very young babies in natural sleeping poses and are often accompanied with hats, cocoons and other props capturing those first few days. We also look to capture little hands and feet, pouting lips, folds and wrinkles. After all these features last for such a short time while they are newborns and even a few months can change them and your memory of how they were at birth.

Our Hampshire newborn photography also features both parents, mum and dad holding the newborn baby. We feel it is important to have parents in the newborn portraits as well as the baby alone. Having a parent in the images gives a sense of scale between the newvborn and an adult, and makes for an interesting portrait in it's own right as well as in a series of images presented as a montage or in a portrait album or book.

We present our images as black and white newborn photographs and also colour newborn photographs. Images are taken and created using natural light whenever possible - again our custom designed Fareham studio is ideal for capturing soft natural light for most of the day, and most of the year. We rarely use flash if at all possible both from an artistic viewpoint and also to protect the babies delicate eyes.
