This evening Gemma and Dan came and collected their beautiful Marwell Hall wedding album. This contemporary panoramic matted album features cedar timber wood covers and a distressed mocca leather spine with white leaves.

Wow what a week, a fully filled weekend with a wedding and some portrait sessions and lots of jobs to completed since then.

Last week I entered a local print competition with two of my favourite images for sometime. With over 80 entries across a wide variety of subjects, and a singular judge there is never any kind of expectation as to how you are going to get on. Well we did great. After all the comments and scoring both of the images were held back for a final comparison and score, and the result was both images were awarded perfect 10′s and also unexpectedly a 1st and 2nd place, which was a first for this competition.

I spent today in the fresh air at the very lovely Fair Oak at Rogate working with equestrian photographer Martin Lewis who asked me to shoot with him today at the Wey Valley Riding Club one day event. The dressage, show-jumping and cross country overlapped some significantly and so I lent an extra pair of hands, some camera equipment, and of course my eye.
Well it is election day, and for the last few weeks we have been receiving election flyers from all of the main parties – Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, Labour, and some of the independent candidates and smaller parties. Frankly I have been shocked, and not by some of the policies and promises but the quality of the portrait images, and election campaign images being used by the candidates to promote themselves.
Within an hour of each other there have been requests from two of my friends looking for cover for this coming weekend. Why ? – because they are stuck abroad and face the prospect of not making it back in time for this Friday and Saturday for weddings. They are not even in continental Europe with a slim possibility of finding a train or car that will get them back to France and then under or over the channel and back home

I was asked to come and take a look at Kuti’s Royal Thai Pier by a wedding planner that I’m working with. The pier is going to be one of Hampshire’s newest wedding venues and I got to take a good look around this historic waterfront property to familiarise myself with it, and whilst I was there took the opportunity to take some photographs.

This evening I was pleased to be accepted to attend a Hasselblad Studio session in Portsmouth where due to the restricted numbers I was able to spend over an hour shooting with the new Hasselblad H4D camera. After a brief period of instruction and some time reviewing the quality of results at a still life area I moved onto a white background studio where I was able to photograph Mia with a variety of lenses. Supported by the knowledgeable and friendly Hasselblad staff I was quickly up to speed with the camera and creating some lovely images .
We will be attending the De Vere Grand Harbour wedding fair on the 21st February (this coming Sunday). This show we will have some new items on our stand, and look forward to speaking with couples looking for quality wedding photography in fine products with a relaxed and friendly service.

A very quick thank you to everyone that stopped at the stand earlier today at the MacDonald Botley Park wedding show – organised by de Mellow Productions. It was great to speak with everyone and to talk to you about the albums and prints on the stand as well as our photographic style and album designs, and to find out a little bit about your own weddings.
After the disappointment of todays show at the Solent Hotel being cancelled we will be exhibiting as planned at the MacDonald Botely Park Hotel this coming Sunday the 17th January 2010.
