Just back from Queens Club in London for the 2010 Aegon Championships and day two of the tournament. On a changeable day the tennis, and practice, was interrupted by several rain showers but the evening cleared and produced some excellent doubles and beautiful light.
Today I covered the PR for the Lee-on-the-Solent Tennis Club on their annual Open Day.
This year both Pat Cash and Andrew Castle visited the tennis club to be part of this well prepared, and executed event.As with last year my brief was fairly straightforward. Capture the day, photograph some PR images of the celebrities with the sponsors and their families, and then shoot the tennis matches.
Once again I will be the official photographer for the Lee-on-the-Solent Tennis Club open day, commissioned by the club to cover the day and to photograph a series of images for them. This year the club has Pat Cash, and Andrew Castle returning to do battle in some exhibition tennis with Chris Wilkinson, the club’s Director of Tennis, and commenter/umpire Matt Chilton also there – it promises to be bigger and better than last years amazing event.
I spent today in the fresh air at the very lovely Fair Oak at Rogate working with equestrian photographer Martin Lewis who asked me to shoot with him today at the Wey Valley Riding Club one day event. The dressage, show-jumping and cross country overlapped some significantly and so I lent an extra pair of hands, some camera equipment, and of course my eye.
On Friday afternoon I went up to Somerset House for London Fashion Weekend to shoot the catwalk shows. I once again had an accredited pass to the catwalk shows and was looking to get some great images of the clothes and of course the models. Each catwalk show was divided into four set of clothing – three different looks, and the entire Betty Jackson collection and the show was repeated in it’s entirety.
We spent today at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour, Portsmouth at an AQ Networking – connecting for business event. We were working for the organiser Laura Swetman capturing some PR images for her business and also had our own exhibitor stand in one of the offices which we had transformed into a studio space

Earlier today we covered a business seminar event at the Regus offices in Whitely for AQ Networking for Business. Capturing images of the seminars and speakers, the exhibition area and some of the networking taking place. These images are planned to be used on the website and for promotional purposes for future events.
or many social photographers this signals the end of the wedding season, and a time to wind down. For many others though this is the busiest period of the year – even allowing for a hectic summer schedule of weddings and other work. We are definitely not winding down. Contained in the post are some of the key dates and deadlines for the rest of the year.
This evening we covered the PR photography for the Lee-on-the Solent Tennis and Squash club’s squash open evening. Organised by club pro Tim Vail (England mens racketball no2) the format was similar to the tennis open day we covered back in the summer with Pat Cash in attendance. This time however, Daryl Selby the England mens racketball no1 and highly ranked England squash player was the star attraction.
Yesterday I provided PR photography to Eclipse Archery who had organised a sponsored archery shoot in North Waltham, Hampshire in aid of Help for Heroes. The images were provided in an online gallery for the competitors to view and I know that Phil is planning to have this event covered in some of the relevant magazines, and press releases supported with my photography.
Tonight I visited a local family for a portrait session. One of the daughters was about to attend her first communion at the local Roman Catholic church and having photographed the elder daughter some 2-3 years ago I was returning to document this important day.
Yesterday I covered the Open Day for the Lee-on-the-Solent tennis and squash club here in Hampshire. The club were looking to use the images for PR and promotional purposes and also to have as event coverage for the visitors to the club to be able to look at online very shortly after the day. At the open day of the Lee-on-the-Solent tennis club the main attraction was an exhibition tennis match between club director of tennis Chris Wilkinson and the 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash. Chris played Pat at the same event last year and this year I was fortunate enough to have court side access for the match in my role as official photographer for the event.
