I spent the afternoon on a commercial photography commission in Winchester, Hampshire with the team at The Place For Mortgages (TPM).
Studio diary of Fareham, Hampshire based photographer - Mike French
This morning I photographed an innovative process cooling unit for an Eastleigh based company. The unit was in the process of final assembly before being sent to a customer and my client was looking for some high quality images of this new unit for sales and marketing materials (website, brochure etc).

I photographed some industrial units in Fareham over two periods of today. The client is the owner of the site, and they were looking for updated images of some of the units to update their brochure and website. All the images were taken on high resolution digital capture equipment using specialist architectural lenses to maintain the verticals and correct perspective.

Today I covered the PR for the Lee-on-the-Solent Tennis Club on their annual Open Day.
This year both Pat Cash and Andrew Castle visited the tennis club to be part of this well prepared, and executed event. As with last year my brief was fairly straightforward. Capture the day, photograph some PR images of the celebrities with the sponsors and their families, and then shoot the tennis matches.

Once again I will be the official photographer for the Lee-on-the-Solent Tennis Club open day, commissioned by the club to cover the day and to photograph a series of images for them. This year the club has Pat Cash, and Andrew Castle returning to do battle in some exhibition tennis with Chris Wilkinson, the club’s Director of Tennis, and commenter/umpire Matt Chilton also there – it promises to be bigger and better than last years amazing event.
We just completed an executive portrait for a management consulting company based in Whitely near Fareham in Hampshire. The Operations Director visited the studio for a formal business portrait and we quickly created a series of different looks and lighting and some high quality portraits before he left.

Last week I entered a local print competition with two of my favourite images for sometime. With over 80 entries across a wide variety of subjects, and a singular judge there is never any kind of expectation as to how you are going to get on. Well we did great. After all the comments and scoring both of the images were held back for a final comparison and score, and the result was both images were awarded perfect 10′s and also unexpectedly a 1st and 2nd place, which was a first for this competition.
Well it is election day, and for the last few weeks we have been receiving election flyers from all of the main parties – Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, Labour, and some of the independent candidates and smaller parties. Frankly I have been shocked, and not by some of the policies and promises but the quality of the portrait images, and election campaign images being used by the candidates to promote themselves.

This afternoon I had the pleasure of shooting Reni for a short while to get some new headshots for her. We worked on 2-3 different looks and some varying expressions and here are three images from the session. I’ll be working on the rest of the shoot over the next couple of days and prepping the images ready for Reni to select her favourites for her headshots.

On Friday afternoon I went up to Somerset House for London Fashion Weekend to shoot the catwalk shows. I once again had an accredited pass to the catwalk shows and was looking to get some great images of the clothes and of course the models. Each catwalk show was divided into four set of clothing – three different looks, and the entire Betty Jackson collection and the show was repeated in it’s entirety.

We spent today at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour, Portsmouth at an AQ Networking – connecting for business event. We were working for the organiser Laura Swetman capturing some PR images for her business and also had our own exhibitor stand in one of the offices which we had transformed into a studio space

Earlier today we covered a business seminar event at the Regus offices in Whitely for AQ Networking for Business. Capturing images of the seminars and speakers, the exhibition area and some of the networking taking place. These images are planned to be used on the website and for promotional purposes for future events.
