We have moved professional associations
An update on our membership of professional
associations following some changes this week.
For the benefit of our existing clients, and
for those considering us in the future we thought it appropriate to let you know
that we have changed our membership of professional associations this week. Our
website will be being updated before the end of March, and at that time the SWPP
logo, and any references to them will be
removed.
Unfortunately there isn't
only one body representing professional photographers in the UK - there are
three major organisations. Our previous association was the Society of Wedding
and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) which also encompassed the BPPA, when we
joined 4 years ago we had no plans to move away from them but as their
organisation has developed and encompassed more amateur and aspiring
photographers, and has focussed their attentions and offerings at that market,
we believed that to enable us to continue to learn, and provide a professional
service to our clients that it was time to look outside of that
organisation.
As such we resigned
from the SWPP this week, and now as was mentioned before are Affiliate members
of the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP). We will be
looking to formally qualify with the BIPP as soon as is practically possible at
Licentate level which will give us an opportunity to talk more about this
organisation and also display their logo on our website. But for now they will
be our association should you have any need of them.
