Steph and Paul at St Mary's Portchester Castle and The Princess

Yesterdays wedding was at St Mary's inside
the ruins of Portchester Castle - a stunning church which I have never been able
to photograph in before because of the previous vicars rules for weddings. I'm
delighted to say that the new vicar, the Reverend Charlotte Allen is much more
relaxed, and really lovely and I now have my first set of ceremony images from
inside, nicely tucked away at the front, discreetly capturing
moments.Let's get the weather out
of the way. It was blowing a hooley, as is common at Portchester Castle, and
lovely when I got there - ominous black clouds skirted Portsdown Hill, and we
got caught shortly after I had photographed the guys and before Steph arrived in
her horse and carriage. It did clear just in time for her arrival but really
rained hard during the service and that in combination with the wind meant that
the family photos were done inside the church with a studio light for optimum
quality. Later on as we left for the Princess Caroline the sun and blue skies
returned for a stunning view of the car and
castle. So on to the day - guests
family and friends were treated to a moving, tender and loving service and it is
clear that Steph and Paul are very much in love it was a privilege to get to see
and photograph the ceremony. With the family groups out of the way we retired to
the Princess Caroline at Ocean Village for welcome drinks and I covered the
room, and a posed cake cutting before everyone sat down and ate. Afterwards I
was witness to some of the best speeches I have heard in a long time with a
continual but light hearted ribbing of the groom who took it all in his stride,
and all the guests were laughing and clapping
at.After the evening guests
arrived we set sail and once out of the marina Steph and Paul took their first
dance as man and wife. Not only was
it a lovely day but I was well looked after by this fun and generous couple and
I'm looking forward to designing their wedding album over the next couple of
weeks.Their online gallery will be
ready sometime around the 25th but for now a few teaser images from the
