Welcome to the Meonshore Studios Blog

Hi my name is Mike French, and I'm a Fareham - Hampshire based photographer, and the owner of Meonshore Studios, a family run business. I'm passionate about my photography, and running the studio and I like to think this shows in the way I interact with my clients and of course in the images I create.

I adore shooting fine art newborn portraits, capturing little babies for their first professional photograph. I also love creating portraits showing families growing together and the creative but critical commercial work. For personal work I shoot sport, and wildlife predominately

Meonshore Studios

Meonshore Studios is based in Fareham, Hampshire and covers clients all over the UK and beyond. We specialize in fine art newborn portraits of babies between 3 and 15 days of age, and location family portraits. These are most likely to be taken in Hampshire in the studio or on location and of course we travel anywhere for our commercial clients.

This blog is the diary of the studio and contains a mixture of the work that we do - we have dedicated websites for our different types of photography.

Corporate shoot for a Southampton florist

I spent yesterday morning in the company of Lynda Robson of Exclusively Weddings at her Southampton based workshop for a corporate shoot.

Lynda was looking for some new PR images of her working, preparing some of her beautiful floral pieces and arrangements – and as the Lainston House wedding fair was the following day it was an ideal time to come down to take these images for her. After a brief reccee of the workshop and a recap of the brief for the shoot I started working, as did Lynda. Without disrupting her concentration and progress I shot around the existing arrangements using as much or as little of the foreground and backgrounds to give variety in the images.

I also took the opportunity to make some photographs of the tools of her trade, and materials in the workshop, to give some additional images for Lynda to use throughout her website and marketing materials.

Towards the end I set up a few more directed business portraits inside the workshop and then we ventured outside to take advantage of some good light, and a contemporary background I found nearby to shoot some more relaxed business headshots.
