Jo and Adam got married on Saturday at the stunning New Place wedding venue in Hampshire. We won’t dwell on the weather, it rained – a lot, but it certainly didn’t spoil the day.
I arrived early to make sure I got some images of Jo and her bridesmaids getting ready in one of the rooms of the Manor House, having photographed the dress, shoes and jewellery I then made my way down to the ceremony room and organised a space to set up my professional lighting for the formal groups if we were unable to get outside. Doing this would not only save 15 minutes later but also reduce the impact on the guests and of course the couple.
Shortly afterwards I met up with the guys and got some nice images at the front of the house in the shelter of the archway leading into the entrance and then it was time to say hello to the registrar and get some images of the guests arriving.
Just before 2pm Jo made her way downstairs, and a wonderful entrance to the ceremony room. After a fun filled ceremony they then had a lovely blessing from Jo’s father Roland before walking out man and wife. The rain had slowed to a steady drizzle but nothing I couldn’t deal with so I braved the rain and brought the couple and their bridal party and family out to the archway where they could remain sheltered from the rain while I got the formal photographs completed with a much better backdrop than inside, and then took Jo and Adam back into the house for a couple of images inside one of which is below.
As the receiving line formed I photographed the Arden Suite laid out for the wedding breakfast, and then captured the receiving line, and then the announcement into the room followed immediately by speeches.
After dinner and with the weather clearing we made our way out to the large steps in-front of this lovely manor house for the large group shot and throwing of the confetti before returning back to the evening reception where a casino and live band awaited. The first dance was spectacular, and the band amazing and they danced away with me slipping off with cards full of great images.
It was great also to see Beata and Justin again – one of my 2008 couples who were kind enough to refer me to Jo and Adam – thanks to you both !
So as usual a selection of images from the day – more after the jump…
