Yesterday I provided PR photography to Eclipse Archery who had organised a sponsored archery shoot in North Waltham, Hampshire in aid of Help for Heroes.
Arriving just before the end of the first (and longest) distance I managed to get my eye in, and get the right lens combinations for images facing the archers. As always I was looking for strong compositions and clean backgrounds which was a challenge with the length of the bows and number of archers present.
After being well looked after by the organiser Phil Collins for a BBQ lunch I and the competitors returned to the action at middle distance and the closest range and I covered both the shooting, scoring, and some of the details of weapons, accessories, and some more portraits from a number of (safe) angles.
This event raised a huge amount of money for the Help for Heroes cause, and finished with a raffle of some excellent prizes and then the medals and awards for each of the different classes were handed out, which of course I also photographed.
The images were provided in an online gallery for the competitors to view and I know that Phil is planning to have this event covered in some of the relevant magazines, and press releases supported with my photography.
Here are some of my favourites from the day. If you can only see one images then click (more..) below the first photograph.

Skilled or lucky I'm not sure, and I don't know how long it takes from loosing the arrow to it leaving the front of the bow, but in this frame and I think 3 others in total I have the arrow in motion, in shot and this is my favourite
