Welcome to the Meonshore Studios Blog

Hi my name is Mike French, and I'm a Fareham - Hampshire based photographer, and the owner of Meonshore Studios, a family run business. I'm passionate about my photography, and running the studio and I like to think this shows in the way I interact with my clients and of course in the images I create.

I adore shooting fine art newborn portraits, capturing little babies for their first professional photograph. I also love creating portraits showing families growing together and the creative but critical commercial work. For personal work I shoot sport, and wildlife predominately

Meonshore Studios

Meonshore Studios is based in Fareham, Hampshire and covers clients all over the UK and beyond. We specialize in fine art newborn portraits of babies between 3 and 15 days of age, and location family portraits. These are most likely to be taken in Hampshire in the studio or on location and of course we travel anywhere for our commercial clients.

This blog is the diary of the studio and contains a mixture of the work that we do - we have dedicated websites for our different types of photography.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009: Some personal work from this Hampshire Photographer

Some days you get to do photography for yourself. Not much but sometimes. Today this Hampshire photographer managed to get over to the Festival of Speed at Goodwood House near Chichester (a lovely wedding venue) in West Sussex for the first time in years to do a little personal work. As well as capturing some of the cars on the hill climb I also wanted to capture some abstract images from some of the wonderful cars on display in the paddock.

I would have loved to have stayed longer, visited the rally track and kept a better eye out for some of the professional drivers and of course the celebrities driving some of these stunning cars. But I have a wedding tomorrow and so I needed to get the kit back to the studio, cleaned, checked, batteries charged and ready to go out and photograph another of my passions….

Here are a few images from the festival. The abstracts are toned, the action images are pretty much out of camera – and the panning shot is real and not faked in Photoshop
