Yesterday I covered the Open Day for the Lee-on-the-Solent tennis and squash club here in Hampshire. The club were looking to use the images for PR and promotional purposes and also to have as event coverage for the visitors to the club to be able to look at online very shortly after the day.
Starting with the final preparations it was quickly on to covering the tennis coaching of the 4-9 year olds, and then 10-16 year olds as well as the other activities happening around the club in the build up to the big tennis match. The club had provided face painting, a clown doing balloon modeling and doing a show, chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows,a hog roast and BBQ to eat and soft and slightly stronger drinks including a Pimms tent to wash it all down with.
Pat Cash arrived around 2pm and after a piece to camera for BBC South we moved over to the sponsors banners where we got some PR images for each of the sponsors with Pat, and then straight back over to the exhibition court where Pat Cash played Chris Wilkinson for an extended set of tennis. I have a blog post on this specifically.
After the singles Pat then played an auction winner over a tie breaker and a game of doubles before the day moved into a more relaxing environment and I left as the band started to play.
The images can be found here – with the password provided to all guests and attendees on the day and of course known by the club. Here however are some from the day…
UPDATE: 2010 Open Day will feature Pat Cash and Andrew Castle – read here for more information
