I’m taking advantage of some of the weekends in the run up to the 2009 wedding season where I have a “spare” day to do two things. Firstly I’m starting to push my cameras to their limits in tricky shooting situations as preparation for the romantically lit churches and wedding venues around the South of England where I’ll be photographing critical, unrepeatable and emotional moments – and secondly shooting some personal work (OK I know – busman’s holiday) to relax and enjoy myself.
ell that time of year has come and today I travelled all the way from Fareham, Hampshire to the NEC in Birmingham for the annual Focus On Imaging trade show. This year my primary focus was looking at Fine Art papers for our new range of wedding and portrait products, to get to touch and feel the paper and pick up some sample packs so we can select one or two finishes we will be offering out clients either as fine art matted reprints or as our high end framed wall portraits. Job done.
Unlike 2009 where many couples seem to be leaving their selection of photographers to within six months of their wedding date – 2010′ers are catching them up, and even overtaking them in their preparation. So enquiries and bookings for 2010 are coming in with more frequency, and many of the couples we spoke to at wedding fairs before and after Christmas are planning their 2010 weddings now.
Last night we covered the Party for Life charity ball at Norton Park in Hampshire for Cancer Reasearch UK.
The organiser, Amanda, is one of our portrait clients and asked if we could print on the night to enable guests coming to the ball to have some lovely memento images – and of course we were happy to oblige.
Today we spent a long but pleasurable day at Langrish House in Hampshire at their wedding fair. We are recommended by Langrish House and it was finally nice to have a space at their wedding fair held every year at this time. Over the course of the day we met with many couples planning their...
