Today I photographed the wedding of Alison and Alasdair at Silchester House just North of Basingstoke, part of the Bijou wedding venues group. A wonderful country house set in magnificent grounds. As usual I started with Alison getting ready in one of the bedrooms available to the bride and groom and close family and we all laughed our way through about an hour whilst Alison had her hair and make-up done. I also made use of the time to shoot her stunning dress, shoes and jewellery, and you can see a shot of the dress hanging on the four poster bed below.
Afterwards it was time to find the groom and best man, and whilst I was doing so I spotted a multitude of animal sponsorships which Alison and Alasdair had made instead of the wedding favours – all of the guests being recognised as looking after these animals.
A laughter and emotion filled ceremony followed in the music room beautifully decorated with flowers from Exceptional Flowers and then after some time with their friends and family a small number of group photographs followed by a short walk around the house and gardens before coming in for the wedding breakfast and speeches, during which Alison was presented with some photographs from the Stag Night, and you can imagine the contents from her expression below.
Our congratulations and best wishes go out to them.
