Todays wedding was the highly prized 07-07-07 date and I had the pleasure of spending it with Josie and Richard at the lovely Thomas-a-Becket church in Warblington near Emsworth and the wonderful Stansted House near Rowlands Castle.
As many of Richard’s family are French there was a large contingent, and I needed to resurrect my schoolboy French as best I could ! but I didn’t seem to offend to many people, and as usual understood more than I could speak…
After a wonderful service at the church, during which the vicar allowed as many photographs as the couple required – such a refreshing change – we moved to the grounds of Stansted House where after a classical car shot (which I have attached) we quietly walked down to the old chapel and used some of the fantastic features for some relaxed time alone. Next came the groups in a small area of shade – as this was a fantastically sunny and warm day and then some reportage shots of guests enjoying themselves around the marquee.
During dinner the main course was a lamb dish carved at the table by one of the guests, complete with red apron. I hadn’t seen this before, and it was great fun shooting the carvers and the food !
With a large family the speeches were varied and engaging, and I finally photographed the first dance before slipping away and letting the party commence.
Josie looked stunning in her dress and I make no apology for showing her off in many of these images from the day. Richard is a lucky guy !
